What makes a good photo?

Here's another image from the event I mentioned in the last post featuring the birthday boy on the left. This is on my favourites from the night simply because this was a complete candid shot of Mike in his element. This really does sum up the subject in one simple photo. Not the most technically amazing shot but I don't believe thats the be all and end all of photography. That why i'm particular proud of this one it helped me take one step closer to understanding what make a good picture. Capturing the moment is far more important than technical ability.
